Bad Installation
Austin, TX homeowners were not pleased with the appearance of their newly installed onyx floor. The tiles were damaged during shipping, yet the contractors installed them anyway. The homeowners were concerned that the entire floor would need to be replaced, and they were dreading the red tape involved, if there were no other options. After a FREE phone consultation with us, they agreed to have the floors restored instead of having them replaced.
Our Solution
First, we ground the tiles down just enough to remove the lippage (unevenness in the level from one tile to the next). Then, we honed away the surface damage. Finally, we gave the onyx a beautiful, glossy polished finish and applied a clear impregnating sealer to inhibit staining and protect the stone. The homeowners said that the finish we achieved actually looked even better than what they saw in the showroom.
