Homeowners Dissatisfied with Matte Granite Finish

Austin homeowners had recently purchased a home that had a granite kitchen. The previous homeowners had the counters honed, which provided a non-traditional matte finish. The new homeowners wanted us to restore the granite countertops and island top to a glossy polished finish.

Our Granite Refinishing Process

Before we began working, we masked and protected the cabinets, backsplashes, and other surfaces. Our multi-step diamond abrasive process prepared the granite for polishing. To restore a high gloss and rich, dark finish, we polished the countertops, achieving the reflective finish you see in the AFTER images. Our final step was to apply an impregnating sealer to protect the granite from stains.
