Grout Color Sealing Makeover

Problem: Dirty Tile Grout on the Floor.

This residential home in Barton Creek Lakeside had floor tile grout that needed some professional TLC. Even with proper cleaning,  grout will accumulate dirt and grime in high-traffic, well-used areas. Over time, these soiling agents can ruin the look of not only your grout, but can impact the look of the whole area. The homeowners contacted us and we were more than happy to help them with their grout issues.

Our Solution: Clean the grout and tile with our specialty cleaners and apply grout color sealing to achieve dramatic and lasting results.

Our Process:

  • Our first step was to remove all the furniture from the area. For floor and furniture protection, we use sliders.
  • Then we swept and vacuumed the whole area.
  • Next, we applied specialty tile and grout cleaner to the floors.
  • We gave the cleaner ample time to start breaking down the dirt and grime.
  • We then used a combination of hand and machine scrubbing to remove all the dirt and contaminants from the grout and tile.
  • Once the scrubbing was complete, we used a truck-mounted hot water, high-pressure extraction process to remove all the dirt and cleaning products.
  • The floor was fan-dried overnight and we came back the next day to do the grout color sealing. The grout needs to be completely clean and dry for the color sealing application.

Grout Color Sealing has many advantages:

The purpose of color grout sealing serve both appearance and practical functions. If your grout has permanent stains or a blotchy appearance, grout color sealing may be the solution you are looking for. With our grout color sealing services, we can match your existing color, or we can change the color of your grout to any color you want and give your floors a completely different look. Plus, color sealing actually prevents staining, a very common grout problem.

  1. Appearance Enhancement:
    • Color grout sealing is often done to enhance the overall appearance of tiled surfaces. It allows you to change or refresh the color of the grout lines, providing a clean and uniform look. This is especially useful if the original grout color has become discolored or stained over time.
  2. Stain Prevention:
    • Sealing the grout with a color sealer helps prevent the absorption of liquids, dirt, and other substances that can cause stains.
  3. Easier Maintenance:
    • Sealed grout is generally easier to clean and maintain. The sealant creates a protective barrier, making it more difficult for dirt and grime to penetrate the porous grout surface.
  4. Mold and Mildew Resistance:
    • The product we use has constant-acting mildewcides and fungicides, so the grout stays cleaner and healthier than unsealed or clear-sealed grout. Color sealing grout helps inhibit the growth of mold and mildew. The sealant prevents moisture from penetrating the grout, creating an environment less conducive to the development of these unwanted substances.
  5. Extended Lifespan:
    • By protecting the grout from stains, moisture, and wear, color sealing can contribute to the longevity of the grout and the overall integrity of the tiled surface. It helps prevent deterioration and keeps the grout looking new for a longer period.
  6. Easy Restoration:
    • Color grout sealing provides a way to restore the appearance of grout without having to replace it. If the grout has become discolored or stained, applying a color sealer can give it a fresh, uniform appearance.

The end result was clean, renewed grout that was brought back to like-new condition. Plus, the homeowners were thrilled with the services we performed and very happy with their clean, bright   grout.
