Dramatic Marble Restoration
Problem
An Austin, TX commercial property owner contacted Gold Standard Floor Care to request an estimate on the marble flooring in a high-volume doctor’s office. Upon inspection, we discovered that the once-pristine marble floor had been damaged by years of foot traffic and had an extremely dull and cloudy-looking appearance. In addition, there were some deep scratches caused by the movement of heavy wooden furniture.
Solution
We honed the floor using diamond resin pads, mounted to our heavy floor machine to remove the scratches and surface damage. Then, we polished the floor using a premium stone polishing powder. The results speak for themselves, as you can see in the AFTER image. Although this floor required a full restoration, the brilliant gloss and clarity we achieved can be maintained with regularly scheduled marble polishing services — and, of course, using sliders or lifting heavy furniture instead of dragging it across the stone will help, too.
